May peace and blessings be upon you, our esteemed audience.
The honour of being afforded an opportunity to impact even one life positively has nothing to do with OUR greatness. It is a privilege, to experience the essence of living through the beauty of giving. We KNOW, that there is more blessing in giving than in receiving.
When WE make a positive impact in someone's life, the LAST consideration is EGO which is fuelled by desire to gain validation or popularity.
The intent is usually to share what we have, be it time, knowledge, money or just a simple smile with those in a position of need.
All these are acts of kindness which we ALL have the capability of doing and it is passed on with the hope that the beneficiary in turn, passes it on to someone else with the same clean heart and intent.
It takes a village to raise a child they say and in modern society aren't we nothing BUT a global village.
The people in GAZA are faced with innumerable, insurmountable challenges that pales our meagre trials in comparison.
LET us Please open our hearts to them, if not in wealth, at least in awareness and if not in awareness, at least in prayer.
"Prayer is The most powerful weapon for a believer , so don't underestimate it's force" .
It is said that behind every successful man is a woman.
Women are the universities of our homes and the flag bearers of strength, who fuel our courage and constantly calibrate our moral compass. The most powerful driving force behind a man is a woman, be it your Mum, your wife, your sister or your daughter and I am fortunate enough to still have three out of these four champions to champion me. My strength lies in these four women Fatima Bayett(my late Mum) , Farah Khan-Bayett(my wife) , Shehnaz Morat(my sister) and Yumnaa Bayett(my daughter) .
Insiders joke: "I love and appreci-hate you three superheroes who do so much for me"
Salute too, to all you dynamic women who make occasions such as this one possible.
Our very own Shireen Ebrahim and her dynamic team are sterling examples of the impact our powerful women can make in the lives of others. We thank you for this.
Standing here is so surreal. Accepting this award... unreal. As Abdullah Bayett I humbly request the permission to be Frank..
This award should be accepted by the actual person responsible for any kindness you see in me.
This person is my number one fan and supporter. She motivates me on challenging days, sings my praises on accomplished days and comforts me on tumultuous days.
She deserves my respect, my praise and my thanks.
I would like to honour my wife Farah Khan-Bayett with this award.
I truly appreciate you, I love you and I thank you for making all the difference in MY life, the lives of my family and the driving force BEHIND ALL THE incredible feats of generosity and kindness to our precious community.
Parents and coaches are the only people who want us to be even better than them
We need to honour those who come before us, who pave the way for us...
We need to always respect and revere them and pass on their values to the ones who come after. They imbibe in us a sense of purpose.
What is this thing we call purpose?
We all have been put on this earth to fulfill it, we spend the foundation phase of our lives discovering it and the rest of our lives sharing it.
Some of the ways to gain immortality they say is through imparting beneficial knowledge and raising righteous children who pray for you and continue the values instilled in them.
With great honour, the fortune of sharing a community stage with two of our wonderful dedicated students Kyoshi Juwairiyah and Sempei Abdullah Kolabhai was the highlight for me. They do us so proud and we honour their beautiful hearts and philanthropic sense of upliftment to all those in whose lives they make an impact.
This sense of giving IS purpose, it is done when odds are in one's favour and when it's not. It takes the attribute of courage to pursue and personify. It is done to genuinely try to make a difference in people's lives in any way no matter how little.
The heart of another human being is the most precious to the ALMIGHTY and we never know, we hope, paradise could be written for us just through one act of humanatarian kindness shared with just one person leaving their heart filled with hope in humanity just because of you.
Lenasia and its wonderful citizens we also thank you for being you. You do make a difference and we salute YOU!
Keep on keeping on and remember to show gratitude to the ALMIGHTY for blessing us with such a wonderful community by uplifting the downtrodden, feeding the hungry and empowering the impoverished and destitute.
Alhamdulillah for everything and thank you for all your support.
